Review: Directed by Vakkantham Vamsi, Extra Ordinary Man, featuring Nithiin and Sree Leela in the lead roles, takes an over-the-top approach to narrating an action comedy drama. The film opens with a bang, showcasing Nithiin in a rugged yet stylish avatar, sporting long hair and a beard, dressed in black with dark shades. The narrative delves deep into the forest as Abhi, alias Erra Balu, recounts his story to smuggling kingpin Selvamani (Sampath).
While the first half manages to fit the pieces of the puzzle, the film becomes overly exaggerated as it progresses. Nithiin effortlessly breezes through his character in the first half but struggles to maintain the same impact in the second half, where the 158-minute film begins to fatigue viewers with its fuzzy and loud screenplay.
The establishment of Abhi and his world, filled with interactions with family, relatives, and neighbours, provides good laughs and keeps the audience engaged. Nithiin commendably portrays the plight of a junior artist who is consistently pushed to the background. Despite the challenges, he maintains a positive outlook on life and enjoys being an actor. Sree Leela, as Likitha, adds a cute element to the love story, but her talent seems underused with limited screen presence.
